The quinceañera is a traditional celebration of life and gratitude to God on the fifteenth birthday of a young Hispanic woman.  It emphasizes her passage from childhood to adulthood.  In the presence of family and friends, the young woman (the quinceañera), attends Mass and receives a special blessing by the priest at that time.  The parents, in coming to the Church seeking this blessing, acknowledge that their daughter has reached the age where she is capable of handling additional responsibility.  They see the quince años Mass as a way to thank God for the blessing of their daughter's life and to seek God's blessing and guidance as she enters adulthood.

The Quinceanera candidate must:

  • attend a workshop offered by the church (either in February or in September), along with both parents
  • have received the Sacrament of First Holy Communion
  • have received the Sacrament of Confirmation or be in the process of Confirmation preparation

Parents - Because this is a very special time for your daughter to receive God's blessing, please note the following:

  • Workshops are only offered twice a year; please prepare well in advance for you and your daughter to attend the workshop
  • $60 fee for the workshop (lunch included)
  • Quinceanera Masses are only scheduled from May through the first week of February

The next workshop will be February 28, 2026.
