 Religious Education 1st - 12th Grade 

Welcome to St. Mary Parish School of Religion (PSR).  It is our privilege to be walking this faith journey with your family.  Parents, as the first educators of your children in the Catholic faith, we are here to assist you in helping your children further their religious education and preparing them for their Sacraments.   

The Parish School of Religion (PSR) is the religious education program at St. Mary Parish for children that attend a non-Catholic school, and we offer religious instruction and sacramental preparation for students in 1st through 12th grade. 

The mission of the St. Mary Parish School of Religion (PSR) is to educate the youth of our parish in the teachings and ways of the Catholic faith.  The religious education program offers the students the opportunity to not only learn about their Catholic faith, but to also develop their relationship with God the Father, Jesus His Son, and God the Holy Spirit as they continue their journey of lifelong learning in the Catholic faith.

Tuesday  -  Friday   9:00 am - 12:00 pm  and 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm 

First Holy Communion

First Communion Sacramental preparation is a two year program for students in second grade or older who do not attend a Catholic school.  Families who wish for their children to receive First Holy Communion must be attending weekend Masses at St. Mary Church, and register their child in the Parish School of Religion.  Parents must also attend monthly scheduled faith formation sessions.  Within this program students in first grade or above receive religious instruction for First Reconciliation and First Communion.  We also provide instruction for older students who have not yet received these sacraments.  Students in the first year will attend class on Tuesdays from 6:00 - 7:30 pm.  The following year students  will attend class on Wednesdays from 6:00 - 7:30 pm. 

Continued Faith Formation - Returning Students 

Although the preparation for Sacraments are very important, please remember your child can continue to learn more about the Catholic faith at all ages.  Even though your child is not preparing to receive a Sacrament this year, please consider enrolling them in the Parish School of Religion classes.  Classes will start in October and will be held on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 - 7:30 pm. 

Confirmation 7th & 8th Grade 

St. Mary Parish provides a two year preparation program for youth, starting in 7th grade to 8th grade.  Youth wishing to receive the sacrament must be attending weekend Masses at St. Mary Church and participate in the parish Confirmation preparation program.   Classes take place  on Sundays from 2:30 - 4:00 pm in the Parish Center.  A copy of the Baptismal certificate must be provided before the child can attend class. 

Confirmation High School 

St. Mary Parish provides a High School Confirmation program for students in  9th - 12th grade.  Although this is a one year program, the High School students are required not only to attend weekly class but also weekly  youth group meetings as part of their Confirmation preparation.  Classes take place on Sunday starting at 5:00  and continue with "The 99 Youth Group Meeting at 6:30 - 8:00 pm.  Parents must also attend monthly scheduled faith formation sessions.  A copy of the Baptismal certificate must be provided before the child can attend class.  

  Class Cancellation Policy: 

During inclement weather, we will follow the cancellation guidelines given by the local school district.  If on a given day the local school district or St. Mary School cancel school because of weather, classes for Parish School of Religion will also be cancelled.  Look to the local television or listen to the local radio stations for cancellation announcements.  An announcement will also be made to you by text and also displayed on this website.
